• IV Catheter Types and Gauge Selection
• Indications and Contraindications for Peripheral IV Insertion
• Infection Prevention and Safety Standards (CDC / INS Guidelines)
• Recognition and Management of IV Complications (Infiltration, Phlebitis, Hematoma, etc.)
• Skills Lab
  • Peripheral IV Insertion Practice (Using Simulation Arms)
  • Flushing, Dressing, and Securement Techniques
  • IV Removal and Safe Disposal Procedures
  • Return Demonstration

Completion Requirements

• Complete 100% of the Online Didactic Training
• Attend the Skills Lab and Successfully Pass the Return Demonstration
• Complete the Course Evaluation Survey
